Gail and I drove up to Ann Arbor with our bicycles to check out the Border to Border trail in Wasthtenaw County. We started in downtown Ann Arbor and headed east on the path towards Ypsilanti.
It was a beautiful summer Saturday with the sun blazing but not too hot. The trail is almost all off-street and decent. There were some bumpy areas, but it was just fine.
We hit two outdoor spaces in Ypsilanti with great java, solid brews, and killer food. We spent some time hanging out by the Huron River and were impressed with how the locals embrace their summer Saturdays.
The Border to Border Trail in Washtenaw County Michigan typically looks like this. Cultivate is a bar/coffee shop in downtown Ypsilanti. I had a Nitro and Gail had a vanilla latte of some sort. The outdoor patio at Cultivate was massive with of plants, tables, and shade screens. The outdoor patio at Arbor Brewing was also massive with big trees and options for shade or sun. Gail loves a chopped salad and this did not disappoint at Arbor Brewing. This was as close as we got to health food all day. It was Gail’s birthday weekend so we went crazy on the junk, including some great fries at Arbor Brewing.
