This movie was directed by Kenneth Branagh, which gave it some street cred in my book. The Jack Ryan franchise is pretty dead in my mind and doesn’t have much of a future, but this was passable. Plenty of action and decent thrills, good for a rainy night on iTunes with G.
I stopped reading Tom Clancy about a decade ago at Without Remorse I think (is that the John Clark one?). That’s just one of many things that changed with old age. I can still appreciate the action flick though.
These people are running out of fake villains though. The Russian business mogul exacting revenge on the US in the name of Mother Russia is kind of timely, I guess, but was kind of boring for me. Luckily Jack Ryan stopped this madman in time.
