Even though you can’t recall the plot or content, that book you read still matters. Follow the link above to get some real research on how the books you read make up a big part of you, even if you can’t remember them. James Collins says:

…it makes in intuitive sense: we have been formed by an accretion of experiences, only a small number of which we can readily recall.

[via BoingBoing.net] Even though Tabasco comes in behind my beloved Cholula in the hot sauce race, I was still mesmerized by this video. It describes the whole process of making Tabasco, which includes hand-picked peppers, oak barrel aging for three years, and extensive quality control.

This is a little more than a mid-life crisis for Buzz Bissinger, author of Friday Night Lights, who spent almost $700,000 in the last three years on high end clothing. He says it has a lot to do with sex. Here’s a quote from the article:

I’ve never heard of the First We Feast food blog site, but it seems pretty legit based on this small sample. I love the fake snark about trendy coffee shops and the “no espresso machine” mandate. The article is worth keeping around because there are tons of great links to info and equipment.
