Mr. Selfridge – Season Two

If you can’t tell by now, Gail and I are PBS junkies. It started a few years ago when we nuked cable for about a year and really got wired-in to this free service. I don’t know where we’d be without WTTW, probably divorced, destitute, and demented. Maybe I’m blowing things out of proportion.

We really like this show though. The idea of an American, a Chicagoan nonetheless, opening a retail store in London and making it a fixture of British life, is captivating to me. The fictional side stories they throw in are touching without being over done. I can’t believe it’s going to last though, because these actors are going to start getting snatched up like the ones from Downton Abbey. That’s fine.

I haven’t heard about next season or anything, but there are enough interesting things happening that I’ll be watching.
