WordPress is the website and blogging platform that drives this site. It’s a neat piece of software, completely free and with great support. I’ve been to a couple WordCamps and I’m always impressed with the level of passion surrounding WordPress. It’s simple, flexible, and powerful.
I use the Thesis framework to help me with layout and design. The folks at DIY Themes have built a great theme foundation and have made it easy for me to customize things with my own minimalist design.
When I’m writing content, I start almost every post in Elements on the iPhone. It’s a highly functional text editor with Markdown previews built in. I usually finish things up on my laptop using TextMate to tweak and edit things combined with Marked to preview how it will look on the web. These are some awesome, reasonably priced software tools that let me focus on the writing, which I need to do, because my writing is not pretty. I know.
